$1m in fake clothing, other goods seized at Toronto flea market

Louis Vuitton logo on buildingCanadian police have seized $1m-worth of counterfeit clothing, toys, designer handbags and other products during a raid on a flea market in Toronto, in an operation that led to four arrests.

The operation at Dr. Flea's flea market yielded fake versions of products sold by Louis Vuitton, Coach, Juicy Couture and Ralph Lauren, as well as pirated versions of movies including copies of the new Avengers movie, which has yet to open in theatres in Canada.

Towards the end of March, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said it had removed fake good with a retail value of more than $1m in a series of operations stretching back several months, focusing mainly on the trade in counterfeit sports clothing.
