US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers in Cincinnati, Ohio seized three shipments of fake jewellery and watches worth an estimated street value of nearly $7m earlier this month.

The first shipment originated from Hong Kong, and was destined to a private residence in Richmond, Virginia. Although it had a declared value of $319, the package held 275 assorted Cartier Love bracelets, which if genuine would have been worth almost $3.3m.

A second shipment was found to contain 385 yellow gold Cartier bracelets and 115 white gold Cartier bracelets worth $3.2 million, while a third contained 13 fake Rolex watches, 10 Cosmograph Daytona and three Yacht Master II, altogether valued at around $405,000. The letter two shipments also originated from Hong Kong.
