Avery Dennison has launched a supply chain traceability platform designed to help manufacturers drive transparency in their day-to-day operations.
The new offering – called Optica – brings together the company's RFID smart labels, its atma.io cloud platform, software, and in-field hardware to provide factories and brands with greater control and visibility into manufacturing and supply chain data.
According to the company, the platform will help companies reduce waste, minimise inventory loss, boost profitability, and strengthen partner and consumer trust, whilst also helping them comply with changing regulatory requirements for traceability. Digital product passports, and the circular economy.
The first target for Optica is the apparel industry, which has come under pressure to take control of its manufacturing supply chain to ensure products come from sustainable, legitimate sources and are not tainted by the use of forced or child labour.
