Brief: Fake Tiffany jewelry seized in Miami
Staff reporter, 28-Oct-2015
US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers have seized 1,200 counterfeit Tiffany bracelets at Miami International Airport.
If genuine, the bracelets - which were intercepted in a shipment from China - would have had an estimated Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $2.8m.
CBP officers suspected the jewelry to be counterfeit because the bracelets "did not appear to be of the quality consistent with the products normally manufactured by the trademark holders." The agency's import specialists examined the samples and determined the items to be counterfeit.
