US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Rochester Port of Entry in New York have seized various designer items, including multiple high-priced watches, in a haul that would have been worth $1.6m at manufacturer-suggested retail prices (MSRP).
The haul was spread across several shipments that contained multiple pieces of “designer” clothing, shoes, handbags, and watches. One of the watches is believed to be a copy of an Audemars Piguet Roal Oak Skeleton, which carries an MSRP of approximately $1.2m.
After a thorough examination of the merchandise, all the items were determined to be inauthentic and were seized for bearing counterfeit trademarks.
