Brief: mPedigree tech deployed to protect Raid insecticides
Staff reporter, 29-Mar-2016
SC Johnson has started using SMS-based authentication on its Raid insecticide as part of a campaign to raise awareness of malaria.
The company is adding mPedigree-supplied codes printed on scratch labels to Raid cans distributed in Ghana, allowing purchasers to verify they have a genuine product by texting the code to a dedicated number.
A return text indicates whether the product is authentic and also enters the customer into a prize draw - encouraging both authentication and the purchase of additional Raid products - whilst also allowing them to access malaria-related educational materials.
