Applied DNA Sciences teams up on ink supply

Applied DNA Sciences (APDN) has signed up as an authorised reseller of Markem-Imaje fluid inks to meet Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) requirements.
Having signed the letter of intent, APDN will inoculate Markem-Imaje fluid inks with its SigNature DNA technology. Each ink will then carry a customer-specific marker to help companies comply with DLA requirements that all microcircuits are identified as genuine using SigNature DNA.
APDN CEO James Hayward said: “With Applied DNA Sciences as an authorized seller of Markem-Imaje inks, I believe the supply of SigNature DNA for electronics will be simpler, faster, and more easily meet the DLA requirement.”
The two companies are also considering developing inks for use on a wide range of substrates. Development of these inks would give APDN clients access to a broader range of products and printing technologies from Markem-Imaje.
Equipped with these inks, APDN thinks it can better help companies comply with requirements the DLA introduced to stop the flow of counterfeit components into the military.
