Casio sues Indian online retailer Snapdeal over fakes

Japanese consumer electronics firm Casio has filed a lawsuit against Indian online retailer Snapdeal and sellers, claiming they sold counterfeit copies of its watch and calculator products.

The action – which reportedly comes after a large number of complaints among customers who bought products from the site – has already resulted in an injunction on sales via Snapdeal, according to The Times of India.

Its the second legal ruling regarding Snapdeal and counterfeiting this months. A few days ago, Snapdeal and other e-commerce sites including Amazon, Healthkart and Flipkart were blocked from selling health and beauty products from direct sellers Amway, Modicare, and Oriflame without their consent.
