CBP seizes counterfeit point of sale machines worth $2.5m

US customs has seized 1,351 counterfeit Oracle/Micros point of sale machines with almost $2.5m at International Falls Port of Entry.
The units were discovered in three rail containers en route to Ranier, Minnesota, during a Customs and Border Protection (CBP) inspection that revealed “violation of intellectual property rights (IPR) regulations.”
In the past, fake card reader machines have been used by hackers to steal card details from unsuspecting customers and send them electronically to cybercriminals, who can then empty bank accounts.
