Fake Watchfire LED screens sized in Minnesota
Phil Taylor, 18-Feb-2020
US customs have intercepted hundreds of counterfeit Watchfire LED digital signage screens worth more than $1.5m in Minnesota.
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the International Falls Port of Entry targeted a rail container destined to arrive in Ranier, Minnesota. On inspection, they discovered LED screens in violation of intellectual property rights (IPR) regulations.
The 1,088 LED screens were seized, and could have had an estimated manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $1.53m if the goods had been genuine.
Danville, Illinois-based Watchfire is one of the biggest US manufacturers of indoor and outdoor digital signs, used across a wide range of commercial, entertainment and community sectors.
