Mettler Toledo completes Pharmacontrol Electronic integration
Staff reporter, 28-Mar-2012
The integration of
Pharmacontrol Electronic (PCE) into the Mettler Toledo group
following last year's acquisition has been largely completed and
has resulted in "an expansion in the reach of its track-and-trace
technologies in Europe, the US and Asia," according to the
company.
The expanded global access to PCE's systems comes as industry
regulations surrounding counterfeiting are becoming increasingly
stringent, according to Mettler Toledo.
"New directives on serialisation technologies are coming to
fruition in the EU and in the US in the next two to four years, and
more stringent standards are also expected in China and India," it
said in a statement.
"PCE's serialisation technologies can help pharmaceutical
manufacturers meet these regulations and combat the rise in
counterfeit drugs."
Pharmaceutical manufacturers across the world now have access to a
comprehensive range of quality assurance technologies, compliant
with the latest industry regulations, from one source, as well as
access to a wider global service network.
