New Momentum joins forces with Oracle

New Momentum, which provides software to help companies scan the internet for counterfeit copies of their products, has joined forces with Oracle to target the pharmaceutical sector.

Oracle is developing a platform for manufacturers that includes the ability to serialise each sellable unit and then track that unit through the supply chain via electronic pedigree.  New Momentum's software-as-a -service (SaaS) has been used in a number of industries and was debuted in pharma earlier this year.

By integrating real-time view of counterfeit suspects with New Momentum's system, the two companies hope to help drugmakers step up their anti-counterfeiting efforts and comply with serialisation and pedigree mandates.

Prototypes of the system will be on display next week at Oracle OpenWorld (October 11-15) in San Francisco, USA.
