People: Appiphany adds to advisory board

Deborah Greaves and Wayne EdwardsAppiphany Technologies has appointed two new members of its advisory board as it continues its push into the brand protection market.

The new additions are intellectual property attorney Debra Greaves of Los Angeles lawfirm Ezra Brutzkus Gubner LLP - a specialist in fashion and consumer brands - and Wayne Edwards, founding member and past Chairman of the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network (CACN).

Appiphany expanded its position in the brand protection sector earlier this year when it acquired rights to an online monitoring platform - called Watchdog - in North and South America. Watchdog scans business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer (B2C) sites for counterfeit and other trademark-infringing products.

Greaves serves on the executive committee of the IP Section of California State Bar, and has previously been on the board of directors of the International Anti-Counterfeiting Coalition (IACC). Edwards recently retired as vice-president, sustainability and electrical safety with Electro-Federation Canada (EFC).

Appiphany recently applied to change its name to IP Risk Control as part of a re-branding initiative to better align its identity with its "future strategy and near-term product roadmap."
