Yokogawa warns of fakes posing ‘serious safety risk’

Industrial machinery group Yokogawa says it has discovered counterfeit EJA-110E series differential pressure transmitters in the North American market.

The fakes, which were being sold through “unauthorised resellers”, could pose a serious safety risk as they claim to comply with explosion-proofing and other hazardous area regulations, but in fact “do not meet the engineering and manufacturing requirements of regulatory bodies.”

Yokogawa notes a number of differences between the counterfeits and its genuine transmitters, including packaging inconsistencies, typos on labelling and structural changes. Controlglobal.com has more.
