Fake tea laced with dye seized in Pakistan

Authorities in Pakistan have intercepted 700kg of potentially hazardous tea that was adulterated with non-food grade colouring.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Authority discovered the fraudulent tea during a raid conducted at two properties in the Sheikh Abad area of the provincial capital Peshawar, according to the Urdupoint.com news service.

The counterfeit tea was being distributed and sold to locations around the province, according to the agency.
