Two held over fake Hindustan Unilever tea sales in India

Police in Bangalore, India, have arrested two people on suspicion of making and selling counterfeits of two Hindustan Unilever Ltd (HUL) tea powder products.

The accused have been identified as Bahavar Lal and Jagamram, both residents of Rajasthan, and are reported to have been selling fake Red Label Tea and Brooke Bond 3Roses tea, according to Indianexpress.com. The two were arrested after a tip-off, and a third person is said to be under investigation.

Police uncovered R 1.5m (around $21,000) worth of tea powder weighing just under 2,500 kgs, a packaging machine and printing packaging material bearing the HUL brand name and logo.
