Norman Gardner has stepped down as chair of US brand protection company VerifyMe, and will be replaced by Scott Greenberg.
Gardner is the founder of Rochester, New York-based VerifyMe and also the inventor of the company's main anti-counterfeit technology, and has been chair since 2017, having previously also served as its chief executive. He is retiring for health reasons, but will be retained by the company in a consultancy capacity.
New chair Greenberg is currently chair of GP Strategies Corp (GPX) a management consultancy, engineering services and staff training company, and was previously CEO of the company for 15 years.
VerifyMe specialises in brand protection features for anti-counterfeit, authentication, serialization, and track and trace for labels, packaging and products based on covert luminescent pigment RainbowSecure, first launched in 2018.
The platform combines an invisible ink with a proprietary laser-based VerifyMe Beeper device to enable counterfeit products to be detected in the field.
