AIPIA suspends smart packaging conference amid coronavirus scare
Staff reporter, 04-Feb-2020
The Active & Intelligent Packaging Association (AIPA) has decided to postpone its Smart Packaging Summit Asia because of concern about the coronavirus outbreak.
The conference – due to be held in Shanghai in April – will take place at a later date and all agreements made so far with exhibitors and speakers will be respected, according to the organisers.
“Our first priority is the safety of members and delegates attending the summit,” commented Eef de Ferrante, AIPIA’s director.
“While the efforts to control the virus are increasing rapidly, the risks remain, and the lockdown on travel in and out of China is likely to continue for the foreseeable future,” he added. “We felt it was important to give some certainty as early as possible, so have decided to postpone our event.”
