Argentina warns of stolen breast implants, fake adrenalin

Argentina's medicines regulatory authority - ANMAT - has banned the sale and use of a batch of stolen breast implants on the grounds that the compromised supply chain could render the products unsafe.
The Nagor brand implants - reportedly sold by an organisation called Intersil Medical Carole Ann Jackson - are potentially unsafe because they may not have been kept in sterile conditions.
Earlier this month ANMAT issued a similar warning regarding the theft of Refinex brand breast implants manufactured by the Chinese company Shanghai Kangning Medical Device, which were imported into Argentina by Tecnoimagen SA.
Counterfeit adrenalin
In July, ANMAT banned the sale and use of a prescription pharmaceutical product after discovering potentially hazardous counterfeit versions in circulation on the national market. The fake injections were copies of Veinfar ICSA Lab's adrenalin 1% product, presented in 1ml vials. The counterfeit versions do not carry any batch numbers or expiration dates.
