FDA updates on stolen Tylenol shipment

The US Food and Drug Administration has issued further details about the theft last month of bottles and pouches of Tylenol brand painkillers, manufactured by Johnson & Johnson subsidiary McNeil Consumer Healthcare.
The shipment was stolen from a cargo terminal at the Jacksonville Port Authority in Jacksonville, Florida, on September 25. The thieves cut the locks on the yard and made off with the trailer using a bobtailed tractor.
The haul included around 57,500 bottles containing 150 caplets of Tylenol Arthritis Pain (acetaminophen 650mg), and 180,000 pouches contain two caplets of Tylenol PM (acetaminophen 500mg and diphenhydramine 25mg).

The stolen Tylenol Arthritis Pain caplet product lot number can be found on the bottom of the outer box, and also on the bottle label. The stolen Tylenol PM product lot number can be found on the individual packet.
"McNeil Consumer Healthcare, along with FDA and local authorities, has initiated these efforts in order to locate the stolen product and identify the individuals who were involved in the theft," said the FDA in its statement.
