IBM's Paul Chang joins Sproxil advisory board
Staff reporter, 11-May-2011
Paul Chang, who leads IBM's serialisation initiatives in the pharmaceutical industry, has joined the advisory board of mobile product authentication specialist Sproxil.
Commenting on his appointment, Chang said: "as someone who has been actively involved with the FDA’s anti-counterfeiting initiative since 2003, I am looking forward to parlaying that experience into an opportunity to advise Sproxil on further improvements to the technology behind its MPA solution."
Sproxil narrowly missed winning the accolade of the world's smartest start-up at IBM's Smartcamp in Dublin, Ireland, earlier this year, but received an honourable mention from the event judges.
Chang, who oversees business strategy and market development for the Industry Solutions unit within IBM's software division, is responsible for the development and execution of the group's 'Supply Chain Framework' solutions across multiple industries including pharmaceutical, consumer products, automotive, retail, and industrial.
He also featured in a number of IBM's recent promotional videos on the topic of serialisation and traceability in pharmaceutical distribution as a means to combat medicines counterfeiting. The ads can be viewed via the links below:
