People: TraceLink hires pharma veterans

TraceLink logoTrack-and-trace specialist TraceLink has hired three former pharmaceutical executives to boost its expertise in the life sciences sector.

Michael Ventura joins the company as director of industry solutions, having previously been serialization and security lead for GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) in the Americas. He is co-chair of the GS1 traceability team and is also on the standards organisation's executive leadership team.

Elizabeth Waldorf - formerly leading serialisation and track-and-trace initiatives at Amgen - is joining TraceLink in the role of director of global traceability, while Marcel Zutter, who previously led the serialization programme for Abbott's established products division, is named senior implementation programme manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

TraceLink says its headcount is now more than 150 staff, a rise of 80 per cent since the start of the year. The hires come as the pharma industry is turning its attention to the problem of meeting global serialisation requirements that are due to come into effect in the next two to three years.
