Rx-360 officially launches shared audit programme
Staff reporter, 25-Sep-2011
Trade organisation Rx-360 has launched a programme that allows the sharing of reports from audits conducted by individual member companies on their suppliers.
The decision to launch the Audit Sharing Programme comes on the back of a pilot project which was completed in July and revealed that shared audits provide a broader view of the quality culture and performance of supplier, said Rx-360 in a statement.
The pilot also showed that "existing reports can be used to identify and pre-screen new suppliers," while there are potential savings with the evaluation of reports that could "reduce supplier audit frequency/length, or audit scope."
Using the system, member audit are uploaded into a secure database and can be accessed by other interested companies, all with the supplier's agreement.
This sharing of information can provide pharmaceutical manufacturers with ongoing information about specific suppliers of interest, while providing suppliers with visibility to potential customers and the possibility, over time, of reduced pre-audit paperwork, and frequency and/or length of audits, added the trade body.
