SF Express trials blockchain for key goods amid COVID-19
Staff reporter, 13-Apr-2020
Chinese third-party logistics firm SF Express has started using a blockchain-based tracking system to protect essential supplies like medicines and food during the coronavirus pandemic.
The Shenzhen-based courier company says the system “will be able to track, verify, and record each transaction in the logistics process, and identify the priority level of each order”, according to a globaltimes.cn report.
SF Express is also said to be combining blockchain with big data to build a trackable logistics network that can be used to set priority levels for essential goods and minimise the risk of falsified or otherwise illegal products entering the supply chain.
