USP proffers fellowships in counterfeit detection

analysisThe US Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) has launched its 2013 fellowship awards programme, with a number of anti-counterfeit projects featuring among its focus areas.

The categories in which USP is inviting applications are field portable spectroscopic techniques combined with chemometric approaches to counterfeit detection and identifying counterfeit drugs through excipient characterisation, amongst others.

The three fellowships - worth $50,000 apiece - will involve close collaboration with USP scientific staff and volunteers and are open to applicants who have been accepted for full-time study in a doctoral program or medical, veterinary, or dental school; those who have been accepted to a fellowship program in a nationally accredited academic institution; or those who were awarded a postdoctoral research (non-faculty) appointment.
