Vesdo test labels help verify datamatrix reader systems
Phil Taylor, 08-Jan-2012
Switzerland's Vesdo Ltd has introduced a set of test labels
that can be used to set up, test and validate datamatrix reading
systems used on packaging lines.
Verification of the correct function of inline cameras is
demanding, as the tests have to be made directly on the packaging
line under real production conditions, according to Vesdo.
To help with this process it has now introduced a series of
self-adhesive, single-use labels (pictured) which can be fixed to
actual production cartons and can test the vision systems' ability
to handle various grades of 2D datamatrix codes, as well as other
defects such as an incorrect GTIN checksum or missing group
separator.
Further details on the Compliance and Test Labels are available
from Vesdo and its UK and
Ireland agent Performance
PharmaTech.
