In brief: Schreiner named to NASPO board
Staff reporter, 28-Aug-2013
The North American Security Products Organization (NASPO) has appointed Schreiner Group to its board of directors. The company is represented at NAPO by Günther Galfe, who heads the Schreiner ProSecure Competence Center.
NASPO is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and provides certification of companies that offer security-relevant products worldwide, as well as helping to set security risk management standards.
Last month, ANSI and NASPO published a new version of its Security Assurance Standard (SA-2013), which were originally developed to improve security for financial and sensitive documents but has latterly been expanded to lay out best practices for products designed for authentication and fraud prevention.
This is the first update to the standard since 2008, although NASPO says it will be updated in future on a continuous basis to reflect the rapidly-changing nature of the security industry. The new version was not yet available on NASPO's website at the time of writing.
