India rolling out holograms to stop fake doctors

Indian medical science institutes are rolling out identity cards with holograms after a fake doctor was discovered.
Resident doctors and security guards apprehended the imposter at the New Delhi branch of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). The man is now being investigated by Delhi police while AIIMS is taking action to prevent further incidents.
During questioning in parliament, the Indian Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said all AIIMS’ permanent staff and doctors are being issued with identity cards featuring holograms to provide an extra layer of security.
Other Indian institutes are also contending with infiltrators using fake documents. The Medical Council of India reports fake faculty staff members have been discovered at 17 colleges, while the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) was also infiltrated.
ISRO blamed the intruder’s success on a lapse in the authentication process. This blip allowed a civilian woman posing as a senior scientist to enter the ISRO headquarters using a counterfeit identification card.
