Nanotech and Hueck Folien unveil banknote security alliance

Nanotech Security and Hueck Folien have said they will work together in the production of a colour shifting security feature in optical thin film (OTF).

The two security feature specialist said they expect the OTF product will be initially used in banknotes as threads and then expand into other markets in the future. Financial details of the collaboration were not announced.

In a statement, they said the proposal stems from "extensive co-development work at both companies on equipment and technology over the past year."

The aim is to combine Nanotech's colour shifting thin film expertise with Hueck Folien's large volume production and worldwide distribution channels.

Nanotech and Hueck Folien saud in the statement that they are "respected and established suppliers of security features for banknotes and this collaboration ideally positions both companies to participate in this industry as partners."
