Vietnamese police detain two suspected counterfeiters

Police in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, arrested two men suspected of producing and trading in counterfeit drugs earlier this month.
The police said one of them, Nguyen Thanh Hoang, was also purchasing locally-made drugs and illegally repackaging them with the trade dress of foreign imported brands.
Hoang said he counterfeited drugs such as Novartis' arthritis drug Voltaren (diclofenac), Sanofi-Aventis' antibiotic Oflocet (ofloxacin) and Bayer's antihypertensive drug Adalat Retard (nifedipine) and then sold them to wholesalers in Ho Chi Minh City or smuggled them to neighbouring Cambodia.
Local news reports claimed that Hoang was producing around 200 40-count boxes a day.
